I'm not a yates fan I'm an RPM fan and I personally don't want to be a 2nd class Ford team

DON'T MIND THEM GETTING TOGETHER. but I do mind FORD and ROUSH SELLING YATES DOWN THE RIVER. When I first read about the merger, my first thought was Doug has finally seen the light. He is breaking away from ROUSH. If your acquainted with some of my comments on other forums , you would know I DON'T TRUST ROUSH. This last act IMHO WAS A FORD/ROUSH DEAL. FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, EVEN BEFORE THIS SO CALLED ROUSH/YATES ALLIANCE DEAL, DOUG WAS HOOKED IN BELIEVING ALL THE PROMIES THESE TWO WERE FEEDING HIM. THEY KNEW DOUG WAS NO TEAM OWNER AND COULD BE SWAYED TO FIT THEIR PLAN. NOW THEY LEFT DOUG WITH NO CHOICE. ABOUT DOUG BEING HIS CHOICE TO WORK ON ENGINES, THERE NEVER HAS BEEN ANY DOUBT ABOUT THAT, BUT TO AGREE TO A SELL-OUT,THIS I DON'T BELIEVE. DOUG WAS LEFT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CHOICE. AGAIN THANKS TO ROUSH FOR ALL THE HELP HE DIDN'T GIVE AS PART OF THE ALLIANCE DEAL WITH YATES .ROUSH HAS THE YATES ENGINES AND YATES IS NOW GONE. THE YATES NAME HAS ALWAYS BEEN A THORN IN ROUSH'S SIDE.

Hope I haven't ruffed any feathers but these are JMO

I know Robert is retired, sitting in some rocking chair up on some hill..... just wondering how HE feels about this. Guess the "media" doesn't think his opinion is important?

I don't think he wants to talk about anything. He really hasn't commented on anything since he retired.

I sure hope he gets out of that rocking chair qnd before its to late. Contact Newman/Haas/Lanigan, get a REAL DEAL DONE call his son and get a real partnership started that Doug stopped and went with Roush. That was Doug big mistake. It was downhill after that. The engineering that was promised ,Doug never got and the chassis well, we know how they ran. What YATES needed was a darn good Chassis Engineer and we all know you can't beat those open wheel engineers when it comes to building chassis . We got the H/P but if you can't drive the darn car, how can you utilize your H/P. That was one of Robert Yates biggest mistake giving the ownership of RYR to Doug. Doug is stricky an Engine Man and knows how to get that H/P. Doug was never a man to run a Racing Team and now there is nothing left of the YATES NAME THAT HIS FATHER BUILT AND TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN.

I have to agree with yates on this one! Doug basically destroyed the company his Dad built, and lost everything! I wish Robert were still there when Gilliland came into cup, they never had the right equiptment for him and now I'd like to see him land with JGR

You are laying the blame on the wrong guy, the kid didn't have much of a choice when the cat in the hat decided he wanted RYR engines for his own.

The same can be said going all the way back to the Gapp and Roush drag racing days, Gapp ended up out.

The power that guy has to take whatever he wants is astounding.

And you know that to be fact?

Ford is paying Doug out the gazoo to put up with Jack.

Maybe Dorothy will come along with a pail of water and save him.
