I watched part of an AWA three hour special yesterday with my husband. Greg Gagne was on. I always liked Greg and his dad, Verne. My husband wondered if Verne was still alive. So I googled him.
Verne Gagne is indeed still alive at the age of 83, but he is in the memory loss section of a nursing home, having been diagnosed with a form of Alzheimer's, caused by too many head injuries.
In January of this year Verne was involved with another resident in a push and shove match. Neither man remembered the incident later. As a result of injuries, the other resident died one month later..Verne was charged with homicide but was declared incapable of knowing what he was doing.

Now I wish I hadnt googled it.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that a few months ago. It's a shame. Head injuries are a big problem with wrestlers, unfortunately. Part of the whole Chris Benoit thing was supposedly due to head injuries.

verne and greg are my uncles, I beleive I told that in a different forum.
My family is scattered through california, washington, minnesota and texas (they're from minnesota)

greg is my uncle being my moms brother, so my last name is not gagne
