UFC 60 -- Matt Hughes v. Royce Gracie

The big UFC PPV is tomorrow night with the main event being Matt Hughes v. Royce Gracie.

For those who have no clue either guy is....brief breakdown...

-Gracie is a pioneer in MMA (mixed martial arts) and is undefeated in UFC. He and his famous family introduced ju-jitsu to America and the fact that a 150 pounder could force a 240+ pounder to submit. Gracie has not competed in the UFC for quite some time and the question is whether or not he can compete with the best. Gracie will not be able to wear his gi (the white robe) in the ring either...with the new UFC rules (shorts/tights, small gloves on fists, no footwear, etc.).

-Hughes is the best UFC Welterweight ever, reigning Champ in that weight class (belt is not on the line in this fight). He came up as a tremendous wrestler and has become great with strikes, submissions, etc. Hughes is the clear favorite going into the fight.

Any other UFC or MMA fans here?

Re: UFC 60 -- Matt Hughes v. Royce Gracie

I've started getting into the UFC watching on Spike before TNA Wrestling, but I'm still finding my way around, trying to remember who's who and whatnot, so I appreciate the breakdown of these two fighters. For anyone who hasn't seen it -- it's great stuff... very physical, very intense. Sure beats the hell out of boxing with the state that sport is in these days!
