| UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre 2 The UFC will make it's debut north of the border when they head to Montreal, Canada next Saturday April 19. for UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre 2 The main event is battle for the UFC Welterweight Title. When UFC Welterweight Champion Matt "The Terror" Serra (16-4-0) faces off with UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Georges "Rush" St. Pierre (15-2-0). Matt Serra is fighting for the first time since he shocked the MMA world with his upset over St. Pierre at 69 and claimed the welterweight belt. St. Pierre has rebounded well since the lost to Matt Serra, beating Josh Koscheck at UFC 74 and Matt Hughes to claim the UFC Interim Welterweight Title at UFC 79. Now they will face off again in Montreal. Matt Serra is Brazilian Jiu-Jistu Black Belt and who has great submissions, but as we saw in his first fight with St. Pierre his striking is much improved. St. Pierre is probably the best overall athlete in the UFC, he can knock you out as we saw in his fight with Matt Hughes at UFC 65 or he can submit you as we saw in his fight with Matt Hughes at UFC 79. Not mention that Georges St. Pierre is a Montreal native and will have a home octagon advantage if you will. I'll Georges St. Pierre to win a great fight via TKO in Round 3. Then the other bid fight of the night is a middleweight between former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich "Ace" Franklin (24-3-0) and Ultimate Fighter 4 winner Travis "The Serial Killer" Lutter (12-4-0). Rich Franklin is probably the greatest UFC Middleweight of all-time. He is coming off a lost to Anderson Silva when tried to reclaim his title at UFC 77. Lutter is fighting for the first time since he lost in his title shot against Anderson Silva at UFC 67. Rich Franklin is a great striker, who will knock Lutter out is he gets the chance. Lutter is a submission specialist, who has a BJJ Black Belt. If this fight stays standing Franklin will have the advantage, if it hits the mat, then Lutter has the advantage. I think Franklin will be able to not get submitted long enough to earn a victory via TKO in Round 2. Here is the Full Card: Main Card Matt Serra Vs. Georges St-Pierre (For Welterweight Title) Travis Lutter Vs. Rich Franklin Nate Quarry Vs. Kalib Starnes Charles McCarthy Vs. Michael Bisping Mark Bocek Vs. Mac Danzig Preliminary Card Joe Doerksen Vs. Jason MacDonald Jason Day Vs. Alan Belcher Ed Herman Vs. Demian Maia Rich Clementi Vs. Sam Stout Brad Morris Vs. Cain Velasquez Kuniyoshi Hironaka Vs. | Re: UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre 2 This is a good match-up Franklin, him and Lutter are both basically at the point where, if the lose they could be gone. Franklin has never been submitted in UFC career, and I don't think that will happen on Saturday. Without submissions Lutter has no other way to win. |

| Re: UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre 2 St. Pierre dominated Serra who looked like he didn't belong in the same cage as the new champ. Don't know what it was but Serra was not on his game during the fight. St. Pierre avenged another loss. I wonder how long he can stay on top. |
