As Bernard Hopkins prepares to fight Joe Calzaghe on April 19 in what should be one of the best boxing matches of the year, he's stepping up his trash talk. Which, in Hopkins' case, means peppering Calzaghe with racial taunts.

"I would never let a white boy beat me. I couldn't go back to the projects if I let a white boy beat me."

Calzaghe got the better of the verbal exchange with Hopkins with this reply:

"I don't know why he said all that because he has a white trainer, Freddie Roach, in his corner. "Hopkins has made himself look stupid. It was embarrassing for his team and I didn't care for his remarks.
"He has been around a long time and a great servant to the game but it's time he hung up his gloves and I will make it happen.
