In the main event we will have a total freak show. It's a heavyweight bout between Kimbo Slice (1-0) and David "Tank" Abbott (9-13). Tank is a MMA pioneer and a legend of the sport. | Re: Elite XC: Street Certified: Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott Slice and Abbott had some choice words for one another during their press conference... Trash-Talk Continues at Slice-Abbott Press Conference -- MMAjunkie.com “I think it’s funny that he’s got Bas Rutten to train him; this is a real fight and not a slap-fest,” Abbott said. “He should have gotten a real fighter to train him. Training with Bas is better than nothing, but you either have it or you don’t.“ Slice replied, “Bas is a mentor of mine, and anything Tank has to say about him, I’m going to take it personal. He has a big mouth. He needs to watch what he says… I’m going to make him pay for his words.“ |

| Elite XC: Street Certified: Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott Live Blogging Yves Edwards (32-13-1) vs. Edson Berto (13-4-1) Fight is underway. Both come out calm and looking for their spots. Edwards is looking for leg/body kicks. Berto has some fast hands...goes for the takedown and gets it. Berto has a choke on Edwards...guillotine. Edwards is trying to get out and DOES. Nice. Now Edwards is on top of Berto and in control. Edwards is going for the kimura. Berto is trying to kick Edwards out of position and does. Nice submission defense from both. Edwards on top, landing some body shots. Woah, some nice head shots in there from Edwards. Berto is throwing some shots from the bottom. Edwards with a nice elbow. Both fighters throwing some stiff shots to the head. Ref breaks them up/stands them up. 20 seconds left. Berto with a nice kick. Goes for the takedown but Edwards blocks it. Jumping knee and KNOCKS OUT BERTO. WOW. Yves Edwards wins at the end of the first. Dolphins' Jason Taylor is shown in the crowd. |

| Re: Elite XC: Street Certified: Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott Live Blogging After the fight, Goldberg asks Edwards about a potential title fight with KJ Noons. Edwards says they are good friends but you have to want the title to be in the sport. That would be a good fight. So far, a couple of big knockouts. Great show so far. |

| Re: Elite XC: Street Certified: Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott Live Blogging Kyle Noke (13-4-1) vs. Scott Smith (14-4) Fight is underway. Feeling out period. Dumb fans are booing. Noke throws some jabs and a leg kick. Nothing landing except for Noke leg kicks. Smith throws a flurry but doesn't land much. Noke is throwing some nice crosses and jabs. Smith lands a combo. Noke has a slight cut under his right eye. Fans are restless. 30 seconds left. Smith is now aggressive, lands a leg kick and goes for a high kick, blocked. End of round 1. Pretty even, I would give the round to Noke, 10-9. He seemed to be more aggressive through the five minutes. |
