Reports came in a few days ago that Tito Ortiz has been offered a fight with undefeated light heavyweight Lyoto Machida. No word yet on whether Ortiz has accepted the fight but some don't think he will.

The issue here is, although Machida is undefeated and a solid fighter, well, he's known as a boring fighter. Machida has wins over Stephan Bonnar, Rich Franklin, B.J. Penn, Kazuhiro Nakamura and Sokoudjou but is keen on taking his opponents to the ground and winning on points. Seven of his twelve wins have come via decision.

Tito Ortiz has only one fight remaining on his current UFC deal.

Machida is boring yes, but he a very good fighter. But this came out of no where everything I was hearing was Tito and Shogun in February or March.

There was some talk that a Shogun/Tito fight could happen, but I don't think it was ever 'close' to coming true.

Shogun has said he will be back in the Octagon in April though.
