WWE Superstars bring home show for troops in Iraq

World Wrestling Entertainment and its Superstars have been spreading holiday cheer both abroad and stateside this month, leading up to spending a special Christmas Eve with our troops in Iraq when WWE and USA presents the fifth annual holiday special, "WWE Tribute To The Troops," which airs on USA Network on December 24 at 9 p.m. The holiday TV special is WWE's most important broadcast of the year. It is based on the experiences of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and the 19 Superstars and Divas who in early December met and entertained U.S. troops stationed in Iraq. It features the stories of military personnel on the front lines, their interaction with WWE Superstars, and their participation in the special live wrestling event that culminated the WWE tour, bringing the troops home to you for the holidays. -- World Wrestling Entertainment

Another cool part of this is the wrestlers all volunteer. No one is forced to do this. PROPS

No one is forced, in so many words. But some guys don't like the travel and security issues. IRC, last year there was a stray explosion (IED, or something like that) where the make-shift arena was set-up. Luckily, nobody was hurt.

The people who do go always have great things to say about being able to bring some entertainment to the troops.

I'm surprised it's the Monday show this year. Over the past few, it's been on Fridays.

Hmm... tough choice now. Watch this or watch Ralphie shooting his eye out again? Decisions, decisions.
