ProElite, the parent company of EliteXC, has been on a sort of spending free this year. They purchased such MMA companies as King of the Cage, Spirit FC and Cage Rage Championships. Now you can add the Hawaii based Icon Sport to that list. The announcement was made earlier this weekend.

Icon Sport recently had to postpone a fight card scheduled for this past Saturday when the main event fell apart due to injury. Reigning middleweight champion Robbie Lawler pulled out due to a torn bicep. Lawler was scheduled to defend his championship against Hawaii native Kala Kolohe Hose. No future date was given for a potential rematch.

Icon Sport has been home to MMA fighters such as Matt Hughes, Frank Trigg, Vitor Belfort and Frank Shamrock.
