UFC Strips Sean Sherk of Lightweight Title

According to Dave Meltzer, the UFC announced today that they have stripped Sean Sherk of the UFC lightweight title in the wake of the CSAC upholding his suspension for failing a drug test.

UFC 80 in Newcastle will be headlined by a UFC lightweight title fight between B.J. Penn and Joe Stevenson. Prior to today's announcement the fight was billed as for the 'interim' title so I assume the 'interim' tag will now be dropped.
