The UFC and Spike TV will soon close the books on “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra,” but casting for an upcoming seventh season is already underway, and production kicks off after the new year.
Over the past couple months, MMAjunkie.com (UFC News & Rumors - MMA News - UFC Fighters - UFC Event Recaps and Previews - MMAjunkie.com) has gathered some information about the upcoming season, all of which can be found in “The Ultimate Fighter 7” archives.
Despite the season debut being just four months away, there are still a lot of unknowns. However, let’s run through what we do know.
The season will, in fact, feature middleweight fighters. We spoke to a few of aspiring fighters who headed to a tryout date in New Jersey, and they were told the show would feature 185-pound fighters. In fact, sources close to the show have told MMAjunkie.com for the past couple months that middleweights were the most likely choice for the upcoming season.
And, considering the UFC’s lack of middleweight depth, it makes sense.

The UFC's middleweight division is definitely its weakest as far as depth. So they should get at least a couple of solid fighters after TUF7.

If Forrest and Quinton end up the coaches, should be a fun series.

Has this show really been on the air for 6 years already, or are they doing 2 seasons a year. I can't believe it has been so long already.

I don't if its they do 2 season a year, but most years there is more than one season.

They've done two seasons a year. The original was back in 2005.

I thought so. I was hoping time wasn't going by that fast. I remember watching the first season.
