It's been confirmed that top heayvweight fighter Fedor Emelianenko will fight Hong Man Choi on New Years Eve in Japan. An
MMA Junkie report states the fight will take place on a Hustle Pro Wrestling show.
M-1, the MMA organization that signed Fedor a few months back has a non-exclusive deal with Fedor which allows him to fight elsewhere.
Hustle is a Japanese pro wrestling group. Some of it's employees worked in the former PRIDE Fighting Championship group. The two organizations at one time were owned by the same parent company.
This fight is calling into question the seriousness of competition for Fedor. Hong Man Choi has only fought in one MMA fight, defeating Bobby Ologun via TKO in 16 seconds. Choi was scheduled to fight Brock Lesnar earlier this year in California but he could not get licensed. Choi lives with the condition called acromegaly...made famous by Andre The Giant. It causes the body to continue to grow well into adult hood. Choi reportedly stands 7'2" and weighs 360 pounds.
Most will expect Fedor to quickly dominate the giant.
