WWE's drug policy has made the news once again this Friday evening. Beginning yesterday (November 1st), they said they would make public anyone who failed the drug testing policy and was suspended. Today, the first public suspensions are known.
Even the
AP has picked up the story.
Chris Mordetsky and Harry Smith were suspended for failing their respective tests. Mordetsky, a/k/a Chris Masters, was suspended 60 days due to a second offense. Harry Smith, a/k/a D.H. Smith was suspended 30 days for a first-time offense.
Smith is the son of the late Davey Boy Smith (British Bulldog) and debuted on WWE TV just two weeks ago. Masters is currently out with a dislocated elbow. I'm not sure if the suspension will begin once he's healthy or it begins right now.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon spoke to the
Orlando Sentinel with one of the topics discussed being the WWE Wellness Policy. Interesting interview, highly recommended you check it out.
As for the positive tests, Masters isn't a shock (he's had personal problems with pain pills in the past and looks like a guy who's on the juice), but Harry Smith was a huge shock. For one thing, he just got called up and you'd think after what his father went through, he would learn to stay away from whatever he took. They won't release why they failed the tests but I don't think it was tylenol. Whether it was steroids or not, we won't know (for now at least).
