| UFC Champ Sean Sherk Steroid Appeal UFC light weight champion Sean Sherk will have his proverbial day in court tomorrow when he steps in front of the California State Athletic Commission. He will be appealing a one-year ban for a positive steroid test after his last fight at UFC 73.
Sherk has said a legal supplement he purchased was tainted with something that caused the positive test. He may have unknowingly introduced the substance into his body.
It's up to the CASC to decide. If Sherk's appeal is denied, he will serve a year suspension from the sport (which is harsh, he'll have to get a "real" job) and be stripped of the UFC light weight title.
Other fighters who will have their appeals heard tomorrow in front of the CSAC include Phil Baroni, Kazuhiro Nakamura and Adam Smith (who made history when he tested positive for cocaine, marijuana AND anabolic steroids at a September Strikeforce show). |
