Reportedly during the post-UFC 76 press conference, Chuck Liddell said he would sit down and think about whether he wanted to fight again.

Bryan Alvarez wrote, "Chuck Liddell said at the post-fight press conference last night that he was going to sit down and consider whether he was going to fight again. That's a pretty monumental statement from, based on ESPN coverage this past week, perhaps the biggest star the company has."

Dave Meltzer for Fox Sports wrote, "Liddell (20-5) said he saw openings during the fight but didn't take advantage of them.

"I left it too close to complain about it," Liddell said after the fight, adding that he'd have to evaluate what he would do next. When asked if this could have been his last fight, he said he would have to go home and evaluate that decision."

He needs to do what's right for him and not worry about us," White told Yahoo Sports. "This isn't the kind of sport you can be in half-heartedly. If you don't have the passion for it, it's time to get out. Only Chuck really knows how he feels, but you wonder because he hasn't looked the same, fire-wise, in either of these last two fights."

Dan Stupp of the Dayton Daily News (and MMAJunkie) compares the talk of Chuck Liddell's possible retirement to Ken Griffey Jr. of several years back. Like Griffey, Stupp believes, talk of retirement for Liddell is premature.
