Earlier today in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Vancouver Athletic Commission held a hearing on whether they should regulate Mixed Martial Arts.
Dave Meltzer reported moments ago that Vancouver ruled to BAN MMA in their city.
I'm not sure the effect this will have on the larger organizations out there. The negative of course is that since the sport is now banned, the health of "underground" fighters won't be upheld by an entity such as the government. Since the sport isn't sanctioned, I assume V.A.C. doctors and whatnot won't be present at MMA events.
Such a shame, people still think this is 1993.
