Dana White told a Las Vegas TV station, the UFC has acquired Wanderlei Silva. No official announcement has been made yet.

UFCJunkie says its sources believe Silva will make his debut on December 29th in Vegas.

If this is true, this is huge as fans have literally been waiting for several years for 'The Axe Murderer' to make his way to the octagon.

It's finally officially official...Wanderlei Silva has been signed by the UFC.

UFC President Dana White said, "As crazy as this sounds, this is the pinnacle of my seven year career in this company."

Silva's likely UFC return (he last fought for the promotion in 2000 versus Tito Ortiz) will come on December 29th. His possible opponent may be Chuck Liddell.

Wanderlei Silva is another fighter from PRIDE to sign with the UFC after the Japanese promotion was sold to the owners of UFC several months ago. Others included Mirko Cro Cop, Quinton Rampage Jackson, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Dan Henderson, and Mauricio Rua.
