UFC 75 on Spike TV This September

Next month, UFC 74 will feature heavyweight champ of the world Randy Couture's first title defense, against Gabriel Gonzaga in California.

However, UFC 75 will take place in London, England on September 8th. Spike TV has announced the network will air the show for free in the U.S. on a tape-delay basis at 9pm eastern.

The big show will be main evented by a title unification bout between UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and PRIDE welterweight and middleweight champion Dan Henderson.

The winner will become the unified UFC light heavyweight champion.

Other fights scheduled for the September show include (according to MMAweekly.com):

-Mirko Cro Cop (#3 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Cheick Kongo
-Michael Bisping vs. Matt Hamill
-Houston Alexander vs. Alessio Sakara

Well, I think the title unification bit means that after the match, the two titles will be one and that title will go to the winner.

Lefty's correct. PRIDE as an entity is out of business. They used different weight classes then what UFC uses so there is a difference in some weight classes/titles. From what I understand the winner of the Jackson/Henderson fight will be the UFC Welterweight Champ and both or either of Hendo's titles will be retired.

Re: UFC 75 on Spike TV This September

my guess is both of his belts will be gone after the fight either with him holding the light heavyweight belt or none at all. Dana white has said in the past he doesnt want ufc to turn into boxing were no one can name all the fighters with belts. So my guess is at most dana white might create division under the 155 class but there wont be multiple belts in the same weight class

Re: UFC 75 on Spike TV This September

I've only seen Henderson fight Wanderlei Silva from earlier this year...of course that's the one where he pretty much dominated Silva (who fought with strep I think).

Henderson is a former two-time American Olympic greco-roman wrestler (92 and 96).

This should be a great fight as both guys are good wrestlers.
