Last night at UFC 69 in Houston, Texas (the first UFC show in Texas), George St. Pierre defended the UFC Welterweight Championship against Matt Serra. The only reason Serra had the title shot was because he was one of the winners on the last season of the Ultimate Fighter reality show. Nobody gave him much of a shot against St. Pierre who defeated the future hall of famer Matt Hughes a few months ago.

But that didn't matter. Serra knocked him silly with a punch and never let up until the ref stoped the fight. MATT SERRA is the NEW UFC WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Wow...still hard to believe.

In the other major fight, Josh Koscheck won via judges scorecard against Diego Sanchez. Sanchez was previously undefeated but many said he looked unmotivated during the fight.

The next UFC event is Saturday, April 21st in Manchester, England. It will be broadcasted on a delay on SPIKE TV that night. The card will feature Mirko Cro Cop, Andre Arlovski, and Michael Bisping among others. So if you've never seen a UFC or MMA event before, then that's the perfect time to check one out (best becuase it's FREE lol).

this was a so so night. the koscheck fight sucked, and the swick fight wasnt to much fun either. However the serra fight shocked the bleep out of me. And there was another fight on the card guys last name was garcia and his oppent was the matador and it was a 155lb fight and they totallly destroyed their eachothers jaws
