I am shocked we don't have a thread in the forum made for this! So far we have a very competitive World Series with the next 3 games in Philadelphia. I don't really have a rooting interest in this series, just want to see good baseball and 7 games.

When I was a kid I was a huge Mike Schmidt fan, followed the Phillies and rooted for them to beat the Dodgers in the playoffs when they met up. My dad was a die hard Dodger fan, we lived in Long Beach, Ca. I went to one of the 1978 playoff games, saw Steve Carlton hit a 3-run HR and get the win in the only game the Phillies won that series. It took a few minutes to find, but here is the boxscore for that night: Box Score of Game played on Friday, October 6, 1978 at Dodger Stadium

My favorite team was and still is the Angels, that's part of why I rooted against the Dodgers.

I'm pulling for the Phils, since I have spent my life in the area!

Those late 70's teams were my faves! I think I was lucky to grow up with the teams being great, unlike some who had lot of bad years.

The best times in this clubs history have all been during my lifetime.

Now players like Robin Roberts and Richie Ashburn were before my time, but for the most part I've seen all the Phils greats!

Phillies are on the verge. I imagine the folks in Philadelphia are ready to party tomorrow night, but.......will the Rays be able to bring this back to Tampa?
