I had to call my dad about Manny. As you know, he's an umpire.

Dad said that he thought Manny was safe at first, then, after the replay, he said that the catcher tagged his hip.

Then I asked if the catcher (or whoever has the ball) has to "tag" the runner out at home or can just touch the base. He said that if a base is open, the "tag" is the play. If it's a force play, bases loaded, stepping on home will cause the out. I didn't know that! And as he said, doesn't matter now. 6-0.

It's really convenient to have an umpire as a dad. He LOVES it when I ask questions! Now, if I could just get him to understand NASCAR!

i actually feel happy for Dice-K ........ he had a bit of a tough year this season and im glad it seems to be ending so well

I'm an only child, and a daughter at that. So asking my dad sports questions puts a feather in his cap. But I truely am interested and want to understand the game.

Wow! Is it possible that I will see the Red Sox win the World Series twice in my lifetime? 1918 to 2004? Yikes! 2007? That would be nice!

I'm really glad to see the Sox do well in Colorado. They have had their doubters for sure!
