I stopped watching after the 3rd inning so this may be a bit late but that fielding play by Adkins at 3rd base and the pick by Helton in the first innning was sick.

Had to leave for a while to chat with my NASCAR friends, but you're right! What a killing! I can't speak to the history of the World Series opening games, but this is brutal.

I have to wonder what the psychological affect is on the Rockies. They know they can't win, so are they just going through the motions?

However, the Sox could get cocky ... seen that before in the World Series. Get too comfortable and blow the game. Bill Buckner ring a bell? Doubtful, but not impossible.

i really dont see that happening at all in this series ...... the Sox have a lot of young players that have never been here before and i think they will still be very hungry for the wins

on a side note ... Rockies pitcher Morales now has a World Series ERA of 94.50

94.50 is probably about the worst i have seen

as i understand it ... they take the # of runs you give up and the # of innings you pitch ...... then figure it and your ERA is how many runs you would give up in a 9 inning game

conversely Becketts ERA for this game right now is 1.29

yeah ...... i just figured it with my calculator

he made 2 outs and gave up 7 runs ........ a game has 27 outs .. by his average so far, to get all 27 outs he would give up 94.5 runs
