Re: 2007 ALCS Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Red Sox

If the Boston pitching can hold the Tribe to 4-6 runs, there's no reason why Boston can't win. Their bats just aren't producing, and it's several guys.

Almost 10,000 posts and the best you can come up with is some High School Pep Rally speech!!

It's my team to say what I want about them and expect nothing but a World Series victory. It's your team too. Have you ever bought a Red Sox hat, been to Fenway, been to their website, paid for cable, or drank a Budweiser? You, and many others, have paid for that crap they are putting on the field right now. Why hasn't Francona put Ellsbury in? Crisp has great speed in center... but Ellsbury's pretty quick too. I have to believe a High School JV player has a better chance of getting a hit than Crisp does right now. Why isn't Keilty in for Drew right now? He had a nice game in game 1. And at this point... seriously... why isn't Tevarez(sp) above Gag-me in the bullpen. I wouldn't put Gagne on the mound if the Indians agreed to blindfold themselves. The only reason I'd put him on the mound would be to save an important arm in a 10-2 blowout... advantage sox of course. Even then it would have to be the 8th inning... and I'd have Pap warming.

Bitter... no... not really... disapointed... you bet!

OK then ... disappointed, but this ain't no high school pep rally talk. Right now their bats are about as useless as sun tan lotion in Antarctica. After seeing Crisp dive for that pop fly last night I was convinced he needs to be on the bench during this cold time of the season. He had no chance of catching that and in fact made it worse by diving for it.

Tavarez .... no thank you. At this point they need to use everything they've got. It is now or never. If they have to use 10 pitchers to stay alive then just do it. Tomorrow will take care of itself, but if they don't win there will be no tomorrow. There are lots of options sitting on the bench. If what is out there isn't working ... replace it. This is it.

If this were a high school pep talk I'd be gentle with youbut in this case it will be tough talk. If you can't stand the heat then get out of my kitchen. If you're a real Sox fan you'll just put the ole rally cap on and keep the negative comments until it's all over.

Straighten out and fly right !!!

Hey, I just post it like I see it. Just last Wednesday I was telling a friend... "If Schilling loses game 2... they might as well pack it in." Putting on the rally cap is only creating false hope. If Schilling had won game 2... I can accept the game 3 & 4 loses. Even on a 2 game losing streak... I could have felt a little more confident that Beckett and Schilling would be able to wrap it up in games 5 & 6. I just don't see the sox being able to put up the 4-5 runs someone just suggested they'll need. Slumps accelerate quickly. 1 bad game becomes 2... then 4... then 8. Just ask A-Rod. I don't see Drew, Lugo, Crisp, or Pedro(ia) being able to drive in a combined 2 runs in one game. That's still putting 3-5 runs on Papi, Manny, and Lowell.

It may be a blessing in disguise anyway. No one wants to face the Rockies right now. They won 15 of there last 16 regular season games and they've won 8 straight post season games (including the "163rd" game). They may not sweep the Inidans (or sox) in the Series... but it won't make game 6.

GO SOX!! (please)

Now it's 3-2 and back to Boston. Can Schilling keep the series going?

Re: 2007 ALCS Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Red Sox

Winning game 5 obviously was huge for Boston, but I'm not at all convinced Schilling has what it takes to put this series to game 7. Carmona is a far better pitcher at this point in time, so the Red Sox best hope is to stay close long enough to get at the Indians bullpen and win the game late. That's just how I see it, anyone else see it different?

Beckett vs. Sabathia has turned out to be such a mismatch. Both Cleveland losses have come with this match-up.

You're dreaming. Schilling is nothing. Carmona will out pitch him and the Tribe locks it up.
