2007 NLCS Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

For the first time in history, the NLCS will be decided between two west teams. The wild card Colorado Rockies will play the NL West Champion Arizona Diamondbacks. Both teams advanced after sweeping their NLDS opponents and are full of momentum.

The regular season series between them was won by the Rockies, 10-8.

Game 1 will be played Thursday in Arizona.

Sucks we have to wait five days for NL baseball to resume but I guess that's what happens when we get two sweeps.

I'm going with the Rockies in this one. They're just the hottest team in the game right now.

As much as my heart wants to pull for the Rockies, I just don't think they can overcome a superior Diamondbacks squad in this one.

I got the D-Backs, those teams have a great streak into the playoffs and carry it over into the playoff. The cool down sooner than later.

Go DBacks!!! I was fortunate enough to attend game 2 against the Cubs and had a great time. I really want to go to tomorrow's game 1 but just can't afford it yet. However, if the DBacks advance to the World Series, I will have an opportunity to attend one of the 3 games scheduled for the NL team. Let's Go DBacks!!!!

I think the rockies are going to win the series because the rockies won the regular season series

Not just that but now, the Rockies have literally only lost one game in just over two weeks. They couldn't be hotter.

Re: 2007 NLCS Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Colorado takes Game 1, beating Arizona 5-1.

According to the Associated Press, "Make it 18 out of 19 for the remarkable Rockies. Neither a ruckus by the Arizona crowd nor a four-day layoff could slow them down... Jeff Francis outpitched Brandon Webb, Brad Hawpe got the big hit and Colorado won the NL championship series opener 5-1 Thursday night in a game interrupted when fans angered by an umpire's disputed interference call threw objects onto the field."

The Rockies got to Webb. That bodes well for them as the series moves forward.

IMO, Arizona can't win this series. They neeeded to win all of Webb's starts. I don't think Doug Davis will stop the Rockies tonight.

The Rockies aren't the Cubs though

I wouldn't be shocked if the Rockies never lost another game this year. I'm that impressed with them. (now watch, they'll lose tonight)

I agree. They had to have Webb's starts to stay in this series. They might win a game or two, but I don't think they can take the NLCS.

Re: 2007 NLCS Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

The Rockies now have a 2-0 lead in the NLCS after an 11-inning, 3-2 win against Arizona last night. Willy Taveras "knocked in" the winning run, earning the game-winning RBI on a bases-loaded walk. Colorado has won 19 of their last 20.

Re: 2007 NLCS Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Since my Reds are not involved, I have become a big Rockies fan this year. Am I the only one that is shocked that 2 of their starting rotation were midseason callups and they are playing at this level. It seems like every season they have a new stud they are showcasing.

Because a team has NEVER, EVER been able to come back from an 0-2 deficit in the LCS, right?
