Cool Re: 2007 NLCS Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Anybody have any idea what the odds were on the Rockies making the World Series at the beginning of the year? It must have been astronomical.

Odds back in February as for which teams would win the World Series were...

Red Sox 10/1
Indians 28/1
Diamondbacks 50/1
Rockies 90/1

Jeff Francis outpitched Brandon Webb, Brad Hawpe got the big hit and Colorado won the NL championship series opener 5-1 Thursday night in a game interrupted when fans angered by an umpire's disputed interference call threw objects onto the field."

The Rockies got to Webb. That bodes well for them as the series moves forward.

MLB - Colorado Rockies/Arizona Diamondbacks Recap Thursday October 11, 2007 - Yahoo! Sports
Francis didn't really outpitch Webb, errors were key in almost all of the Rockies runs. Colorado failed to register an extra base hit and had some lucky breaks go their way, especially the bogus interference call against Justin Upton. The rule states the runner has to be able to at least touch the base when he takes out the defender, Upton did touch the base. That call erased a promising DBacks rally in the 7th inning.

Think the Rockies will get the sweep, or will Arizona pull out at least one win here?

I'm seriously believing the Rockies will not lose a single game for the rest of the year.

It's unreal. Can you imagine a Cleveland-Rockies World Series? Three Stooges re-runs will probably get higher ratings.

Re: 2007 NLCS Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

A series like that would be hilarious for one thing...to see how FOX would try and stir something up. They tried doing it with the Tigers/Cardinals but the two managers would have none of it. At least with that they had the Cardinals and Detroit though.

Boston is the team the nation may be rooting for so there will be interest in the Series.

more? They haven't lost a game in several weeks. Their confidence has to be sky high after sweeping the DBacks this morning.

The Red Sox will be watching on TV just like the rest of us. Cleveland and Colorado will be a good series, but if the Rockies keep getting all the breaks to go their way then nobody, not even the 1927 Yankees, would be able to beat them.

Is there even one person on the East Coast that was up for that game last night? Or more importantly, cared enough to be up.

I didn't stay up because of the game but I did catch the end of it.
