The American League playoffs are all but officially set tonight after the Yankees clinched a playoff spot.

Because New York and Boston can't play in the divisional round, the best record between Los Angeles and Cleveland will play the wild card Yankees. With Los Angeles only having 3 games left and 92 wins, it looks like they're it.

Boston has 94 wins with four games left
Cleveland has 93 wins with five games left (one is going on now)
LA has 92 wins with three games left
NYY has 91 wins with four games left

The first AL playoff game is Wednesday, October 3rd. The other series begins the following day.

So prepare for New York @ Cleveland & Los Angeles @ Boston.

Those are pretty much the match-ups we expected. I'd love to see the Tribe vs. the Sox in the ALCS.
