LCS Game 7 Histories

Here's a look back at some of the LCS' that have gone the full enchalada, 7 games (since 1985). Thanks to Baseball-Reference for keeping such amazing records, too.

2004 AL: Red Sox win on road (Yankee Stadium), 10-3
2004 NL: Cardinals win at home (Astros), 5-2
2003 AL: Yankees win at home (Red Sox), 6-5 (in 11 innings)
2003 NL: Marlins win on road (Wrigley Field), 9-6
1992 NL: Braves win at home (Pirates), 3-2
1991 NL: Braves win on road (Three Rivers Stadium), 4-0
1988 NL: Dodgers win at home (Mets), 6-0
1987 NL: Cardinals win at home (Giants), 6-0
1986 AL: Red Sox win at home (Angels), 8-1
1985 AL: Royals win on road (Toronto), 6-2

Since 1985, there have been 10 LCS' that have gone 7 games. 4 road teams have won the deciding game while 6 of the home teams have won.

Cool Re: LCS Game 7 Histories

Home field in baseball means the least. If you looked at Game 7's in hockey and basektball, it wuold probably be much higher.

Re: LCS Game 7 Histories

Pains me to have to update the list with last year's heart breaker at Shea.

The Cardinals won game seven, 3-1 after a Yadier Molina home run off Aaron Heilman.
