Just a FYI about the 2006 World Series schedule. No matter how long either LCS goes, this is the dates/times of the series.

Sat 10/21, Gm 1, NL @ AL, 7:30 pm
Sun 10/22, Gm 2, NL @ AL, 7:30 pm
Tue 10/24, Gm 3, AL @ NL, 8 pm
Wed 10/25, Gm 4, AL @ NL, 8 pm
Thu 10/26, Gm 5*, AL @ NL, 8 pm
Sat 10/28, Gm 6*, NL @ AL, 7:30 pm
Sun 10/29, Gm 7*, NL @ AL, 7:30 pm

And from the looks of the two LCS schedules, they won't have two games on at the same time and one on some hidden channel lol.

If MLB is seriously planning to play night games in Detroit after the snow has begun to fly, they need their collective heads examined. Determining a championship under conditions where shivering is normal behavior is grossly unfair to both teams. I realize that TV wants the games played at night, so as to maximize the audience, and that MLB wants to keep the TV people happy, but logic should enter the picture at some point. Would the NBA play a playoff game if a leak in a roof was causing water to drip onto the court? Would the NHL play an important playoff game if the ice were melting halfway through each period because of extremely high ambient temperatures? Baseball should also consider the welfare of the players and the integrity of the competition, but they probably won't.

Yeah, this is crazy. Baseball season goes too late into the year now. No way they should be playing that close to November, especially considering all of the games will be in cold-weather markets. Something needs to change.
