Cool Oakland wins game 1

The Big Hurt put quite a hurting on the Twins hitting 2 dingers as Barry Zito outdueled Johann Santatna 3-2. Twins are in HUGE trouble.

Love to see the Big Hurt redeem himself...and Zito too...he got a Cy Young early in his career and then slipped a bit.

That they took down Johan already is big news...big, big news...

It must feel great for the Big Hurt to push the A's past the Twins in such a key game.

Now they got past Santana, it could be smooth sailing.

Stunning, absolutely stunning. The Oakland offense is apparently better than I thought.

Re: Oakland wins game 1

Has this changed any pre-series predictions about the Twins beating the Athletics?

With Santana down and possibly done for the series, the A's might be able to win it.

What a surprise!

Well, do they have an offense?...or was it really all Frank Thomas?...Ii am not so sure Frank can carry them in a series if the pitching falters.

What has Chavez done this year?

Swisher had 35 homers.

Frank Thomas+ Nick Swisher= A's Offense

Re: Oakland wins game 1

Eric Chavez by the Numbers:

.241 22 72 3
BA HR RBI SB

Those numbers aren't great at all compared to what he has done in the past, but he is at least a decent 3B.

How about this alegabriacal equation?

2(Nick Swisher)+1(Frank Thomas)+1/4(Eric Chavez)=Athletics Offense

Simplified Equation:
2Ns+FT+1/4(EC)=A's O
