NLDS - St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres

While the Padres haven't officially won today, they hold a 7-2 lead on Arizona in the 7th inning and they hold the tiebreaker with the Dodgers. So, in what I expect to be the least entertaining match-up in the Division Series, the NL Central and West champs will meet on Wednesday evening (10pm eastern) for game 1.

Game two will be Thursday at 4pm eastern with game three switching to St. Louis on Saturday.

The Cardinals have the least momentum out of all the teams in the NL and it should show. Can Albert Pujols lead them deep into the series? I doubt it, they just don't have the pitching necessary. San Diego meanwhile has a great bullpen and some nice pitchers.

My pick: San Diego in four.

The Cards have played so poorly of late, the D'Rays could beat them in a 5 game series.

Re: NLDS - St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres

Padres in four sounds like a solid pick to me. The Cards have no answers for their recent skid, and San Diego's playing much better ball right now. I'd love to see a sweep and an end to all this nonsense about LaRussa being a good manager. If he was a good manager, he wouldn't have backed into the playoffs with the kind of talent currently on the St. Louis roster.

Cool Re: NLDS - St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres

This might be the most painful series to watch in the history of MLB playoffs.
