This series should be fun between the AL West and Central division champions. Both teams have pretty good rotations and decent pens. It should be a matter of which team comes to hit and I'd assume the Twins do. They'll be led by Joe Mauer and the MVP candidate of a first baseman.

The series begins Tuesday afternoon at 1pm eastern in Minnesota. Game two is Wednesday at 1pm eastern. Game three will be Friday at 4pm eastern in Oakland.

My pick is Minnesota in 3. I just don't like what the Athletics bring to the table and I'm very high on the Twins.

This definitely looks to be the best match-up of the first round. Both teams have quality pitching staffs and both have talented offensive players. I think it goes the distance, with Minnesota winning a hard-fought series.

I really, really like the Twins... but.... I think the A's will win this in 4.

First, the A's have better starting pitching. Yeah, the Twins have Santana, but that's it. Oakland has Zito, Harden, Haren, Loaiza, and Blanton- all who can pitch quality games. The A's have also been hitting better of late- Thomas, Swisher, Bradley, and Kendall have been doing a good job of driving runners in ( and getting on base) this month.

The A's are gonna find it tough to score some runs. I have trouble thinking of how they will score. But they could get some runs against Minnesota's 2nd and 3rd starters I guess.

Santana vs. Zito should be tremendous. Plus, I wonder how Zito will perform with his looming free agency staring him in the face.
