I know most baseball fans in NYC expect both local teams to breeze through the playoffs and face each other in the 2nd Subway World Series in six years. I'd like to know how those of you elsewhere in the nation/world feel about this? I recall the TV Ratings for the 2000 World Series were not good at all. Would it be different at all six years later?

The Yankees are probably just as hated as they were, they have an explosive line-up and a larger salary. The Mets are clearly better than they were in 2000 and have some of the more exciting players in the game.

So what's the feeling on the possibility of another Subway Series this October?

No. Please no. The 2000 Subway Series was, as you said, an absolute ratings bomb. In a match-up between the two New York clubs, 99% of the rest of the country just wouldn't care which team won. One team that I think would really bring a lot of viewers to the table, were they to make it, would be the Detroit Tigers. It's a great comeback story and everyone loves an underdog.

How 'bout the Twins? That's an under dog story... The Tigers were the best in their league all year, the Twins had an incredible comeback. Much cooler.

But I think the Yanks will make it to the series, and the Mets won't. I mean, Pedro has been awful, Traschel back-and-forth, Glavine inconsistent, and El Duque out of the strike zone.

I'm feeling more like Yankees vs. Dodgers. I think this would be an appropriate time to let out a minor cheer for my Dodgers. "Go Dodgers!"

Could this be a replay of the 1955 World Series?
