Re: World Baseball Classic

Ok ... forget everything I said about the World Baseball Classic. I was glued to the television yesterday, got absolutely no work done, and loved every minute of it. Great games, great intensity, already developing false hope for team canada. Somebody find Gagne's right arm and implant it onto Paul Quantril immediately, he is burned toast! If he is playing for a major league team this year, i really pity that city. And can't anyone else play short ? i mean, Orr looked like one of those 16 old kids I used to coach, the ones who always played 2nd, and would be like "coach, i can't play short, only second", and I'd be like... " the earth, grass and baseball are identical on the other side of the diamond. Figure it out". but you just knew they were going to be a mental case about it... he was forgetable last night.
LOTS OF FUN!!

Arrow Re: World Baseball Classic

Pundit makes a good point about the pitch counts, however - as the tournament moves forward, you will simply not be able to take pitchers out of the game, I mean physically. You will not be able to drag Bartolo Colon of the field, even a bucket of chicken wings wouldn't do it. When he played for the Expos, i used to love watching his pitch count top 130, and he'd be bringing it harder at that point on days he was on. What a freak of nature that guy is ! gotta love'm. Speaking of Canadian baseball, we are going to surprise team USA baby ... look out!! Stubby is coming to get ya! .... i wish Denis Boucher was pitching instead of Quantril. What a tool.

Thumbs down Canada's done

I'm flip flopping again. I hate this tournament.

We went 2-1 , beat the united states and we are NOT advancing !!!! What a sore deal.

Re: Canada's done

Hey, you guys aren't done yet. We could always lose to South Africa today.

I mean, after all -- we DO have Al Leiter, after all. So anything's possible!

My only concern is the number of players who are backing out of it lately -- Bonds, Crawford, Mauer, Nomar, and so on. The latest is Eric Gagne, who doesn't want to risk re-injuring his elbow. I mean, you can't blame the guy, but it's still a little disheartening.
its good to look back to remember this early stuff.
