| Too much of a good thing? Good recruiting generally leads to depth on any team's roster. The Badgers are 4 deep at running back, an asset not many teams can claim. Whether or not that number is too many will be determined in the future. The backfield is led by junior P.J. Hill, 2006 Freshman of the Year. He rushed for 1,569 yards during his redshirt freshman year. Despite nagging injuries last year he still rushed for 1200 yards. Injuries are a nagging issue for Hill. Next is junior Lance Smith. He is the most versatile of the bunch. He has lined up as wide receiver, both out wide and in the slot. Sophomore Zach Brown has all the tools for a great Wisconsin running back. He can play 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down. Freshman John Clay rounds out the group. He has excellent physical ability but needs work on the mental aspects of the game. The Badger Herald - Too much of a good thing? Even though it means that their touches will decrease, the guys are friendly and help each other to improve.
