| Stehler, Butrym, boost battered defensive line Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge is hoping the worst is over. He says he's never been in a position where he had 8 injured players. Redshirt freshman Patrick Butrym was back at practice again Saturday. Another positive is the development of junior Jeff Stehle who has been working with No. 1 defense and looking good. Redshirt running back John Clay looks good sometimes with the football in his arms. Other times he looks like a young player who has a lot to learn. WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL Coach Partridge always tries to stay upbeat and positive. He has said that with players like Stehle who are practicing with the No. 1 team, it would only result in the Badgers being better in the end, whether they would be starters or backups.
