| The newly-enacted "Saban Rule" The newly-enacted "Saban Rule", as noted by this Charleston Gazette article, has Coach Stewart's gears grinding. The rule was enacted to prevent less-than-ethical coaches like Alabama's Nick Saban from making illegal contact with high school players during visits to their campuses in the May evaluation period for recruiting. Head coaches must now stay away from high schools during this time, while their assistants are allowed to go do the evaluating for them. Stew is quoted in the previously linked article as saying that the new rule "stinks", but one has to wonder if this rule hurts WVU as much as other schools. (For his part, Saban is pissed, as noted by this Atlanta Journal-Consitution article.) While other schools are forced to keep their rock star coaches away from high schools in May, Stew is allowed to send his own recruiting rock stars, Doc Holliday and Chris Beatty, to a setting in which it's likely that there are no bigger names than theirs. www.wemustignitethiscouch.com/modules/weblog/
