WVU vs. Rich Rodriguez

Well, the ongoing fued between West Virginia and former Mountaineers head coach Rich Rodriguez continues.

First there were newspaper reports that said Rodriguez had threatened to quit just months after being hired. He accused governor Joe Manchin of interfering in the football team's operations. The university continues to assert that he were required by contract to provide them with 30 days notice and a $4 million buyout if he left the university by any means other than death, injury or permanent retirement. Now he claims that the university went back on a promise to do away with said buyout.

Is it just me, or is this getting worse than a soap opera???

Re: WVU vs. Rich Rodriguez

I lost respect for the man actually...and why would the University go back on a buyout clause???...don't they need to protect the investment they made?

Re: WVU vs. Rich Rodriguez

As much as I dislike the guy, he said in an interview with ESPN that his family members are getting death threats from disgruntled WVU fans. That's just sick. I don't know who these people are that would do something like that, but it's time for them to back the hell off. Let the courts handle the dispute between the coach and the team and for goodness sake, LEAVE THE MAN'S FAMILY OUT OF IT!!!

Death Threats What next

Think what would happen if Auburn lured Saban away from Bama

Re: WVU vs. Rich Rodriguez

Yeah, Saban leaving Bama would be tons worse, I think. Look, I don't like the way Rodriguez left and some of the things he's done either, but no way should fans be reacting as violently and emotionally as they have. I hope the court case doesn't take too long so that this whole thing can get resolved ASAP.
