WVU's juvenile behavior toward Rodriguez must stop

On behalf of any sane, reasonable people out there who may be reading this story, I'd like to make a simple request to West Virginia University and its followers.

Let it go, already.

Your coach, Rich Rodriguez, left for Michigan -- a month ago. Obviously it was disappointing, perhaps even painful, coming as abruptly as it did. I'd imagine it's not too different from a guy dumping his girlfriend out of the blue for a hotter, sexier catch.

But c'mon, West Virginia. This is getting absurd. You would think you would have moved on by now, what with that Fiesta Bowl trashing of Oklahoma. You even found yourself a new man, Bill Stewart, who, while seemingly unqualified to run even a Division II program, you apparently really like.

So why all this continued venom toward Rodriguez?

Wow. I mean, WVU could well be in the wrong, but Mandel takes a lot of unnecessary cheap shots - especially against Stewart.

How can a school lose a coach - a coach who was under contract, who threatened to leave three straight years unless he got more money, who has yet to pay his $4 buyout as required by the contract, and who allegedy stole or destroyed files of university players - and come out looking like the bad guys? How?

because they didnt want to pay him what he thought he was worth, If it wasnt for rich WVU wouldnt be on the map, he turned that program around, they lost him ad theyre bitter he went to Michigan, sort of like a young immature breakup, just trying to cause attention and drama,

They gave him raises two straight offseasons, vince! And he was demanding a third! No school should have to give in to that kind of strong-arm tactic!

What does that tell me? Not much.

According to ESPN.com, "A source close to Rodriguez told ESPN that the Michigan deal will average in the range of $2.5 million per year, which would be more than a half-million per year raise from his West Virginia salary."

So they gave him a little more money and this greedy SOB goes off running. He's no better than Saban or Petrino.

I am still old school on this one. Where there is smoke there is fire and this situation is smoking big time.

Rod agreed to the 4 million buyout for sure and everything in his office that had to do with players should have been left for the athletics department to deal with.

Re: WVU's juvenile behavior toward Rodriguez must stop

Waited to learn more myself, and we did, ain't what he done its how he done it. by the way WV WAS ON THE MAP BEFORE HE CAME, HE JUST KICKED IT UP A NOTCH. Now if you want to see a very good coach, watch Wv this year, prior coach was one dimensional.
leon

ps, signed 4 mil contract with Michigan, wonder if they will show some of that juvenile behavior, when he leaves there

Re: WVU's juvenile behavior toward Rodriguez must stop

haha this one made me laugh.....
WVU the bad guy????
they havent talked about this in the media at all, all they have said is they want their money. The Media in the middle of no where have written there personal hurt thats fine, but the Universty has kept this matter properly

2
The man who loves cheerleaders(coach rod) goes on Espn Crying about death threats to his family, yet he never filed a police report, cause ya know that would be lying on a police report.

Two his players are leaving for a rival school because of Michigan losing their family values.

and this man is glorified as being better then WVU cause he is unwilling to a pay something that was part of a contract, if you cant give any penalty for a coach leaving his postion, then what is a contract really worth?

However you see Rich crying on tv about that he is "scared" for his family and you people assume this is WVU's doing the last time i checked all WVU was doing is sueing him for the money he refused to pay to PROPERLY terminate his contract. TO make matters worse he got a job before TERMINATING HIS CONTRACT

Also wvu isnt worried michigan has done this before, and we got a better coach out of it. This time its a not better coach were getting but or entire coaching staff has gotten better, and oure recruiting will be full of players better then the past recruits, with exception of Noel Devine. I dont add slaton and white, just cause they werent the Touted recruits. However they were hidden gems found.

Re: WVU's juvenile behavior toward Rodriguez must stop

It's still money world and the top schools will do whatever it takes to pull in the coach who will lead them back to glory.

WVU fans have a lot of passion and I don't know much about their athletic director but a good AD helps carry you through tough situations and look ahead to the future. This is what we have at Louisville.
We went through the bad, now we know it will take some time to recover but we will.

Quoting from Robert Collier:
In every adversity there is the seed of an eqquivalent advantage.
In every defeat is a lesson showing you how to win the victory next time.
