lol, this game shouldn't even be close. WVU understands what is at stake and they will not allow the Panthers of all teams to ruin it. Pat White should have a field day next weekend.

Congratulations to Big East brother West Virginia University for being voted No. 1 in the Coaches' Poll this week. WVU is second in the BCS standings, less than seven tenths of a point behind Missouri.

The recognition has been a long time coming but few (the clueless Associated Press writers who voted Missouri tops in the AP Poll) can deny that the Mountaineers have earned their lofty ranking. Now comes the hard part, as any team that has been ranked No. 1 this year can tell you: Not getting beat by an unranked opponent in the next game.

Guess who the Mountaineers play next? None other than the Pittsburgh Panthers, their most hated rival, in a Saturday night game at Morgantown. Think it's bad between U of L and UK? That's a love fest compared to the WVU-Pitt rivalry. Don't rely on past records to predict the outcome.

Yeah, the Backyard Brawl's something special alright. Can't wait for it. But it's more than a rivalry this time too. WVU needs to get out there and take care of business. Their killer instinct seems to come and go. Hopefully this weekend, Coach Rod's got 'em fired up and they can go out there and earn a statment win over the Panthers.

I want to thank you and the team for the OUTSTANDING FOOTBALL YEAR. We all wished for the Big One this year but it was not to be.

We must not be discouraged by mistakes. We can learn from our mistakes and return to the game a better team. You and the team can be better and on Jan 2 you will have a chance to show what you have learned.

As a WVU fan I can hardly wait to see the best coach and team in WVU history come back!

Don't get me wrong - I love what the Mountaineers have done this year. But Nehlen took his guys to two unbeaten regular seasons.
