West Virginia vs. Rutgers

The Mountaineers head to Jersey to play the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers next weekend. West Virginia is coming off big wins against Syracuse and Mississippi State. A win puts the Mountaineers in play for a potential Big East win in the next month.

This should be a terrific game. The last time they played, West Virginia defeated an unbeaten Rutgers team after three overtimes last year.

Big East football will be played next week amongst these two good teams. Toss-up in my mind.

WVU needs this win. I sure hope Coach Rod has them ready.

Re: West Virginia vs. Rutgers

Rutgers of last year are not the same Rutgers of this year. WVU will stomp the Knights by a good 21 points....they are due for a "complete game" from all sides of the game..... No more 28 straight points and then play around and let the opponent play catch up......bet on it....

Welcome to GoTeamsGo! I sure hope you're right about the complete game thing, and Rutgers isn't as good as they were last year, but they're still dangerous (see last week against South Florida). Time for the Mountaineers to make a statement, and I just hope they get the job done.

It won't be a toss up in my mind.....WVU will remember well the hard fought battle in Morgantown last year when the temperature was in the low 30's and Pat White didn't start or play. Jarrett Brown did an excellent job and Pat White will do an even better job.. Slaton is back at full speed, Darrius Reynaud is on top of his game and the younger receivers are really coming into their own. I don't even look for a close game this year. Rutgers will keep it respectable because WVU doesn't seem to be able to put together a full game. If they do, then Rutgers will get pounded. Go eers.....

Re: West Virginia vs. Rutgers

If WVU can get off to a quick start, can Rutgers keep it close?

Rutgers' defense looks like they came to play today. The rutgers defense will be hard to score on especially in a steady rain.

Re: West Virginia vs. Rutgers

That was WVU's 13th straight win over Rutgers, and more importantly, it was our top two players who got the job done, with Slaton running for 73 yards and 3 scores and White adding 156 yards and another TD in the victory. Four Rutgers turnovers helped things out immensely as well. I kind of wonder why Schiano continues to stick with Teel - clearly he's the weak link on that offense.
