Rivals.com has named FB Owen Schmitt West Virginia's most underrated player.

According to the college football website, "A fullback with a tendency to smash facemasks, Schmitt isn't as much of a name as his teammates in his backfield, but for opponents, he's just as notorious. He's a tough blocker who can pitch in on the limited occasions he touches the ball. Those opportunities could grow this year after he played a little tight end during the spring." not when it comes to wvu fans, and espn listed wvu's top three returneees as white, slaton , and owen schmidt. so espn def doesn't. Also my favorite line i always hear after a schmidt run is def holy schmidt. you guys should see his game used facemask there so dented and destroyed

Oh, I know, he's a load and he runs like he's got fire in his britches.

I'd love to see him get more carries, but that's already a crowded backfield, so I doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

i think your going to see him used like chris cooley. some formations he will be used as a TE and the others he will be used at fb, we have a te that doesnt catch balls but just block, so maybe we can get him more touches via the air

nor can i, im going to all the home games this year, and the two big road games, rutgers and maryland. Plus i feel bad for my town if we beat louisville cause people wont have couch's to sit on
