MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University and the BIG EAST have announced the 2007 football schedule.
The Mountaineers open the 2007 campaign on Saturday, September 1, at home against Western Michigan. Other home games are against East Carolina, Mississippi State, Louisville, Connecticut and Pitt. Three games - Maryland, Louisville and Pitt - are already slated for national television.
"I think our fans are going to love the home games on this schedule, and it's good to start the season at home and end the season at home," said WVU Director of Athletics Ed Pastilong. "We have some exciting games scheduled for Morgantown this year that will again showcase Mountaineer football to the nation."

Thurs., Sept. 13, Maryland, Away
Sat., Sept. 22, East Carolina, Home
Sat., Sept. 29, South Florida, Away

Sat., Oct. 20, Mississippi State, Home, Homecoming
Sat., Oct. 27, Rutgers, Away
Thurs., Nov. 8, Louisville, Home, Mountaineer Day
Sat., Nov. 17, Cincinnati, Away
Sat., Nov. 24, Connecticut, Home
Sat., Dec. 1, Pitt, Home

West Virginia begins spring practice on March 5. The Gold-Blue Game is set for Saturday, April 7, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium; kickoff will be 12:30 p.m.

Thanks for the info, Eric, and welcome to GoTeamsGo. Not a very strong looking non-conference schedule, I'm afraid. Looks like WVU's gonna take heat for that again this season. Still, think we can win the Big East?

next season we get michigan st then we get auburn the year after that were getting there just taking time since the rebuilding of the big east. Wvu only hold up is maryland and lousiville, and maybe rutgers if they can keep building

oh of course we can win the big east! we are what keeps the big east conference alive! lol i am so optomistic. and by the way, i'm angela. i am just a really big Eric Wicks (#41 WVU Defense) fan. I'm going to all the home games (gotta love those season tickets!) and probably Maryland. I love night games!

I agree that night games in Morgantown are great!!! We have great tailgate parties!! And ya are invited to them!!! We party with the group from mountaineernation.net, they are in the Brown Lot or where the Law School is. During the Rutgers Game when it was cold one of the guys backup into the heater and his pants caught on fire!!! After we rolled him around on the hill and he was okay we all had a good laugh. To bad no one had a video camera we could have won on AFV!!!

Yeah, Morgantown night games are indescribable. The energy in the crowd is amazing and everyone is ready for a good game.
