Those nasty rumors are floating again. Media reports are suggesting that WVU coach Rich Rodriguez and Alabama AD Mal Moore had a secret meeting in New York while both were in town for another event. Could the Mountaineers be close to losing their head coach to the Crimson Tide?

I dont know what is going on but I would think he would let his fans and recruits know the truth on what he is doing and I think he would be so foolish to consider Alabama look how many coaches have come and gone I sure would hope coach Rod would make a statement if he is planning on staying at WVU look at shifino from rutgers he said he is staying. I think we better not let him get away if we do I will be very upset along with the whole state. Larry

Coach Rod did say a few days ago he was staying at WVU. I really hope, for the kids sake, that he wasn't lying.

It is not like him to lie but money does talk but he seems so happy here he is making a cool two million or better a year. I cant think why a coach with the team he has coming back would go any where. He needs to recruit some tough deffensive players but again they were all freshmen and sophomores

I think Rod is playing a game of poker that could cost him his shirt. He did this a few years back with Nebraska if you remember, the result was a raise. Now its back again and i got a bad feeling this could get ugly espically with the comments he has made in the wv media. If he does use this card as a play for more money from wvu it could burn him. He is already the top paid guy here as he should be but this is not an area where you wanna be caught being greedy. if he ends up at alabama it is a mistake he will only be compared to bear Bryant and never be able to live up to the hype. However the main recruits he has gotten while at wvu, Adam Jones,Chris Henry, Pat White, Steve Slaton have only come because of schools fearing their legal issues or schools not beliving they can play. Their best recruit was a joke jason Gwaltney. He hasnt been able to do incredible recruiting here, and maybe he can belive its the area that you cant recruit to an area like this without much prestiege like a Nebraska or Crimson tide. Either way if he does move on he would be making a mistake if he choses the tide
