Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

Breaking news from WTRF TV-7, a CBS affiliate in Wheeling, West Virginia... The West Virginia Mountaineers have accepted an invitation to play Georgia Tech in the Toyota Gator Bowl. This could be a very intriguing match-up, especially if Pat White is healthy. What do you guys think?

I THINK IF ROD STAYS THEY WILL KILL GA TECH. GA TECH IS JUST NO MATCH FOR WEST VIRGINIA. REGGIE BALL IS WAY OVER RATED. IN MORE THAN HALF HIS GAMES HE HAS LESS THAN A 50 % COMP. AND BY WHAT I SAW BETWEEN GA TECH AND WAKE THEIR FANS WILL NOT TRAVEL TO THE GAME.

Re: Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

I agree with the idea that WVU should romp. It seems that a large percent of ESPN.com voters agree. If one looks at the Gator Bowl page and votes on a winner you will see what I mean. Currently, 81% of those participating believe that WVU will win. I personally hope that every Big East team wins their bowl game, it seems highly probable that will be what happens.

Reggie Ball will not play in the Gator Bowl due to grades. I think WVU will score a lot of points and roll with a big ole W. Lets goooooooooooooo Mountaineers!!

Re: Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

still gotta watch out for calvin johnson, no matter what qb is throwing the pigskin he is still one of the best, but i still see wvu routing gt by atleast 21. Big game on new years, but this coming sat, wvu bball opens up its big east schedule against unconn. Big week for mountaineer fans everywhere

Yep, just a few minutes till kick off. They say Slaton will play, but I wonder what he's got. The WVU trainers doubt he can get through the whole game.

Re: Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

Johnson has just been shredding our defense, as has Choice. With Slaton hurt (and now out for the game, according to Coach Rod in his post-halftime sideline interview), I just don't see how we can win this game.

Re: Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

That was a fun onside kick by Georgia Tech to open up the 2nd half. But the Mountaineers aren't staying down.

Great game. Too bad Slaton is out though. White doesn't look exceptionally healthy either.

Re: Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

White may not be healthy, but man is he ever carrying this team on his back. It's 38-35 in the third, and White is 8-of-11 for 121 yards and 2 TDs, and ran 11 times for 79 yards and a third score. If the Mountaineers somehow manage to win this game -- GREAT game, by the way -- without Slaton and with an injured White, I will be astonished.

Re: Gator Bowl: WVU vs. Georgia Tech

38-35 dub v going into the final quarter pat white is yet again piggy backing wvu to the finish line he might not be a great throwing qb but he is a winner. We have seen with vince young the same thing these guys just no how to win and thats just as important if not more
