If the scores hold out today, Souther California (#3) will lose to Oregon State. That should mean a jump from #4 in the BCS to #3 for West Virginia who do not play this weekend.

However, Auburn or Florida could feasibly jump the Mountaineers in the rankings. Either way, if West Virginia wins out (meaning they beat both undefeated conference rivals Louisville and Rutgers), they could play for the National Championship against the Ohio State/Michigan winner.

I remember discussing this in another thread, and saying that if a certain series of events unfolded the right way, WVU could play for the National Championship. They needed Florida to lose to Auburn, which happened. They needed USC to lose, which is a distinct possibility right now (I thought maybe it'd be vs. Notre Dame). But they still need to win out to face the winner of OSU-Michigan at the end of the season. Heck, with the Wolverines' close win over Northwestern, who knows... maybe WVU jumps to #2?

can we hold back on the bcs talk lol, wvu needs to win thursday, thats the first thing, and i will not be posting that day, cause i plan on not being sober, this is going to be a great game to watch, but to be honest we havent seen them against a real defense yet. I think wvu will win, but this is a game where iw ill get to see alot. Ill actualy get to see what type of team our school has.

what scares me the most is the abilty to run against the cards.
