Re: Arenas Shut Down as Blazers Roll Over Wizards

seems Gilbert was complaining after the game that the coach wanted them to play some defense

Yeah, I keep hearing that on ESPN. Man, I'm starting to wonder about Arenas. Last year, I thought the guy was an underrated player deserving of some MVP talk. This year it seems like he's turning into a primmadonna. Complaining about Coach K cutting him, complaining about playing defense, becoming a shameless self promoter... can't say I like this version of Arenas. Maybe he was always like this and I just hadn't noticed, eh?

Cool Re: Arenas Shut Down as Blazers Roll Over Wizards

Not only that, but Arenas opened his mouth and said he would score 50 in the game.

Arenas, who vowed to score 50 in retaliation for Portland coach Nate McMillan's involvement with Arenas being left off the U.S. national team last summer, shot 3-for-15 from the field, including 0-for-8 on 3-pointers.
What's that about walking quietly and carrying a big stick?

Re: Arenas Shut Down as Blazers Roll Over Wizards

He's just another gunner with no shot at winning anything meaningful running his mouth. He wants revenge on everyone that denied him a spot on the Olympic Team and then went out and put up a nine spot against Portland after guaranteeing 50. Rather than admit he played poorly, he actually blamed the coach for having the team concentrate on their defensive assignments. What more do you need to know about Gilbert Arenas?
