Earlier tonight, Clinton Portis left the football game due to injury. He underwent an MRI which showed the dislocation. No surgery is needed (just strengthening) but it's not known when he'll be able to come back.

If he's gone for any lengthy time, you can pretty much count the 'Skins out in my mind. Ladell Betts is nothing to write home about.

Neither was Timmy Smith, but Gibbs won with him. If Portis misses time, they'll obviously lose some production, but I can't forsee a massive drop off from the running game. And hey, T.J. Duckett's still on the market, right? Wouldn't it be something seeing him run the counter trey?

I have to agree with Empire. I didn't think the Redskins would be anything to write home about as it was, without Portis, they'll be horrendous.

without portis, any team with a good pass rush i.e the giants will eat them up. gibbs wants to run it but without a solid backup runner itll be just like his first season there. Also the stellers couldnt get tj duckett, but im sure snyder will give up their first rounder for this bust of a player if portis is out long, tj duckett is just another ron dayne in my mind

Come on now...with a rookie QB, they will eat Betts alive...this team needs Portis big time...
