| Re: Al Saunders, Redskins offensive mastermind It's been well documented that Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Al Saunders will be the first assistant Joe Gibbs has ever allowed call plays, so he must be good. But how good? According to the author of this piece, the ex-Chiefs coordinator is "arguably the best offensive mind in today's league... Saunders' offenses... never finished an individual season worse than fifth in the league in yardage under his tutelage."
I know the name Mike Martz comes to mind when you're talking offensive gurus (ironic that both coached under Vermiel, isn't it?). So which is the better coach, Saunders or Martz? Or is there another OC I'm overlooking who deserves a little love and recognition? |
