Re: Jason Campbell ready to start?

According to this article, Redskins QB Jason Campbell "has the prototypical size for an NFL quarterback. His throwing style is a bit unorthodox but the ball can get where it’s going on target and with touch... [but] He did not take a snap in his 2005 rookie year. Not only did he not take the field, there was never a situation where the team thought he might need to be pressed into action so he never took a substantial number of reps with."

In light of Mark Brunell's injury, do you think Jason Campbell would be ready to step in and lead this Washington Redskin team? Or would starting duties fall to the other QB on the team's roster, Todd Collins?

I'd sacrific Collins and give a rebate to the fans who have season tickets...then I would start grooming Campbell slowly.

Re: Jason Campbell ready to start?

I'm with you, DK. No need throwing your future star to the wolves just yet. Get him really and equipped for battle first. If there's even the slightest hint that Campbell might not be ready, then he's not ready. No use rushing things and ruining his career like Spurrier ruined Ramsey's, right?
