Redskins DE Phillips Daniels has suffered a possibly season ending ACL injury on Sunday.
Daniels hurt his knee in the first practice while trying to jump over a teammate and landed on his knee. He had to be carted off the field.
Redskins are thin at the DE position with Erasmus James currently on the PUP list.
John Clayton says this opens the possibility of Miami DE Jason Taylor coming to the Redskins.

I remember doing a previous thread on the 35 year old Daniels. He had taken up power lifting to strengthen his body. He has a history of injuries. Looks like the power lifting wasnt too effective.

Well, power lifting is not good for the joints. Say he was squatting, oh, I dunno, a thousand pounds? Very bad on the knees.

Not that much. About a little over 600, and his goal was 700.

Okay, but still, the point is that if he was doing considerably more weight than he was used to, then that would definitely weaken his knees.

Definitely more than he was used to. I checked back and apparently he hasnt done it since 1999. The strange thing is the team and the defensive coordinator thought it was a good thing.
Big mistake there. Knees get bad when you get older anyway.
